2022 marked my first year as an independent podcaster.
Twenty-six years of broadcasting experience and relationships in that space led me to one of the most fulfilling years of my life.
Two seasons of Freddy’s Huge ASK Podcast resulted in over two-thousand minutes of new and original content.
From entrepreneurs to authors at the top of their game, FHAP delivered conversations that can help individuals aspiring to level up their personal and professional lives.
The 2022 Spotify Wrapped report came in and shows that the top episode of the year was season one’s conversation with bestselling author Ruta Sepetys. This episode focused on her novel I Must Betray You, but we also dove into life before writing life-changing historical fiction. Did you know her writing was banned and created scandal before the age of ten?
To drive home the impact of Rita’s presence, our conversation was streamed 233% more than the other episodes. This may or may not change since the report was released before season two ends on 12/29.
During the week of May 1st, listenership spiked 157%!
This is due in large part to two titanic guests: Jack Carr, the mastermind behind the James Reece series and Raj Girn, a media mogul based in Canada. Both have a huge footprint in their respective communities and listenership proves it.
Despite these high performing episodes and above average content delivery cadence—FHAP releases 96% more content than podcasters in the Society & Culture category—there’s always room for improvement.
Over the following weeks, I will review with an objective ear (a tall order, I know) and seek feedback from industry peers. This will help me to improve upon your experience as a listener.
Time is the only resource we never get back. I intend to make sure the time you spend with me and my guests is worth it.
Season two of Freddy’s Huge ASK Podcast wraps on 12/29/22 with Evan Carmichael, an entrepreneur who once lost $40 million in his early twenties. While I enjoy speaking with all of my guests, it’s a treat to bring a guest like Evan to the show to wrap up the year.
